Top 3 Plants to Have in Your Apartment

Plants are incredible. From healing properties to being natural air purifiers, there are some plants that are just too good to pass up. So why not add one of these “functional decorations” to your apartment?

For September, the Arrive Mission Valley Blog is sharing a few plants with great benefits. Not only do these plants serve a purpose and function, but they also look beautiful.

You probably won’t be too surprised that the first plant on our list is the Aloe Plant. One of the largest botanical industries in the world is focused on aloe vera, which isn’t surprising seeing all the incredible health benefits that it brings to the table. Aloe helps with burns, cold sores, fevers, osteoarthritis, asthma, diabetes, and more (for a full list of detailed benefits, see Aloe Vera Benefits). Extracting the gel of the aloe vera plant is only one benefit of having this plant. Another is its ability to monitor the air in your apartment; when harmful chemicals fill the air and become excessive, the aloe plant’s leaves will start to show brown spots as a warning.

The Peace Lily is a great flower for any apartment. Not only is it low-maintenance, but they reduce the toxins in the air by quite a bit. Make sure to take good care of this plant by keeping it out of direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Bamboo is another great plant to have in the apartment, as it is one of the top air-purifying plants. These plants prefer an indoor location with bright, indirect light; they’ll also grow great under artificial light. Did you know that you can eat bamboo? It is low in calories, high in fiber, and a great source of potassium. Check out these Health Benefits of Bamboo for more information and tips.
